Tax Office Assistance
Tax Office Assistance must first be enabled in the Premium Configuration Menu. Once enabled, you will be able to send text messages to your clients after their bank checks have been printed.
At the Receipt Menu, select 'Send Text Message to Client'. A message will appear advising you to keep a signed disclosure for texting your client. If you agree, click Yes. The texting disclosure will be sent to your computer, have the taxpayer sign the disclosure before continuing. Do Not Send a Text to Your Client Without the Signed Disclosure Form. Select Cell Phone Number and choose a number from the list or enter a new cell phone number. Next, select the Cell Phone Provider from the list.
No other steps are needed to send the text. Once you print the check, a text message will automatically be sent to the taxpayer. REMEMBER- The text messaging feature is real time. If you print checks in the middle of the night or very early in the morning, your client will receive a text message. It is important that you notify your clients of your business hours and tell them they may receive a text during after hours.
The text message that is sent is generic and cannot be customized. The message your client receives will state "Your check is now to be picked up".
If your client wants to Opt Out of future text messages, they can go to www.taxstatusnow.com/optout. Once there, they can enter their cell phone number and we will prevent any future text messages from being delivered to them.
