Setting Up The Premium Options

TaxSlayer Pro Premium must first be activated before the available options will appear.  The TaxSlayer Pro Program should automatically activate your Premium Version as long as you set up your EFIN correctly in the Configuration Setup.  To check this setting from the Main Menu select:

  • Configuration
  • Electronic Filing / Bank Setup
  • Transmitter’s EFIN  (Be sure your EFIN is entered in correctly here)

If you have upgraded from Classic to Premium you will need your Premium Activation Code that is listed in your My Account.  Go to www.taxslayerpro.com:

  • Login to My Account
  • Click on the Premium Tab
  • Your Activation Code will be listed on the screen
  • Open TaxSlayer Pro
  • Select the Configuration Menu 
  • Choose Configure Premium Options 
  • Answer 'Yes' to the question asking if you 'Purchased the TaxSlayer Pro Premium Bundle' 
  • Enter your Activation Code from My Account
  • Press the <Enter> Key

Once TaxSlayer Pro Premium has been activated in your program, there are a few questions to answer in the Premium Configuration Menu:

  • If you will be using the Paper Cut Paperless Office Option, change the option to YES.

  • There are questions in the E-Mail Configuration Menu that are specific to your e-mail provider.  You will need to contact your email provider to obtain this information. You will need the answers to some specific questions regarding your email providers SMTP server settings.(ex: Server Address, Server Port Number, and whether a SSL is Required).  These settings are unique to your email provider and are not known by your TaxSlayer Pro Technical Support Representative.  If you choose to E-mail Indirect through TaxSlayer Pro (Default) your clients will NOT be able to reply back to your email, and you will NOT receive delivery failure notices. 

  • For Paper Cut to work properly and generate PDFs for e-mailing and data storage, you must install a PDF generator program called GhostScript.  If Ghostscript is not currently installed, select 'Install GhostScript' on the Premium Configuration Menu.  TaxSlayer Pro will direct you to Ghostscript’s website or you may click http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=1897&use_mirror=superb-west&filename=gs860w32.exe&72531508  The GhostScript website will display and the download should start automatically.  If not, click on the 'direct link' option at the top of the webpage.  Next click on Run and the program will begin to download.  Once the download is complete, click on Setup to begin the installation and then click on the Install Button.  The installation will take a few seconds to install.  Once complete, a Windows box will appear with two GhostScript files.  You can now close this box and close the GhostScript box.  Paper Cut is now setup on your computer.

  • If you wish to Send Text Messages to Clients alerting them that their check is ready for pickup, change the option to YES.  TaxSlayer Pro will notify your bank product customers via text, when a check has been printed.  This will eliminate the need to pick up the phone and call each client who has a check ready for pickup.
